About The Owners

Sonya

Sonya enjoys hiking, multi-day wilderness trekking adventures. Before moving to Downieville, she enjoyed spending time raising animals and growing food on her Southern California rural property. In SoCal, she longed for the sounds of the rushing river, the changing colors and smells of the seasons, and the close knit community she knew she wanted to be a part of. She found all of this and more in Downieville!

Mike

Mike enjoys wilderness trekking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and prior to living in Downieville, he also enjoyed growing avocados on the couple’s two-acre ranch in Southern California. He longed for a place he could ride or hike out of his backdoor to commune with nature. When he's not managing the hotel, Mike is out exploring the waterways, lakes, and trails in Sierra County.

Gregory

Greg is a passionate musician who plays guitar, piano, and sings. When he's not on stage he enjoys fishing, camping, and riding his mountain bike around the amazing Lost Sierra Trails. Greg is also a certified E.M.T. who is a paid volunteer for Sierra County's Volunteer Fire Department.

About The

Guest Experience Manager

Max and Miles are two outdoor enthusiasts who moved to Downieville in August of 2021 with their cattle dog named Loowit. They work together to manage both the Carriage House Inn and Riverside Mountain Lodge and take a lot of pride in providing unforgettable experiences to guests who visit Downieville.

Before moving to town, Miles was a biochemist and Max was the general manager of a delicious bakery and bagel shop in downtown Seattle. They brought with them a plethora of hobbies including fly fishing, backpacking, hiking, playing guitar, baking, cooking and reading (to name a few).

They live on property and are here to make sure guests have everything they need and can provide tips for adventuring around Sierra County and surrounding areas. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to them if you ever have any questions or needs.
